Farewell to a sweet man

A couple of weeks ago was a very sad day in our family; my sweet, funny, adventurous Uncle Bill passed away.  It was a very sudden and unexpected event that took all of us by surprise.

I got a call from my mom and she was crying and very upset and when I asked what was wrong she could hardly talk, but she finally told me that Chandler police came out and told her that she needed to call Colorado police about her brother.  She had no idea what to think, but did what she was told right away.  Then she got the news that her brother was found in his condo and apparently passed away from a heart attack.  We just couldn’t believe it.  He was only 62 and had so many friends.  He was such a wonderful man, who definetly had a love for life and adventure and the world.  I have  such fond memories of my Uncle Bill growing up.  We had such good times in Colorado with him at “The Whale’s Tail” restaurant.

Losing him so young reminds me to be grateful for the life I have and for the wonderful people I have in my life.  So many people sure will miss Uncle Bill; he was an awesome man and will never be forgotten!

The makeover

What do you get when you babysit 4 extra kids plus your own? Mass chaos… No really it is quite interesting making dinner for 8 instead of 4, bathing 4 instead of two, and getting them all ready for bed. It just seems to take so much longer and so much more patience. Actually it’s kind of nice when you have older ones around to help. My niece and nephew, Kinley and Chase, were big helps the whole time. Kinley even taught Brielle how to make Dylan look even cuter then he already is, I’m sorry Dylan. We had a fun night of craziness and lots of laughter.

Look at those beautiful eyes!!!

100% baby…

Today Brielle brought home her first spelling test graded and all. Guess what she got, yes you guessed it (did the title give it away) she got 100%. I was Ecstatic. Why you ask? Cause I am the worst speller on the planet and I hope and pray that Brielle will not inherit my spelling habits. So I figure start her out strong while she is young and maybe, just maybe she’ll be amazing when she is older. Now I know she’ll be amazing, but I want her and Cooper to be amazing at Spelling, maybe even spelling bee champions, that would be the best.

As her 100% reward we are heading out for some Mesa Frozen Yogurt tonight. I know I’m bribing her but whatever it takes. Way to go Brielle 100%, you make your momma proud.

it's his party and he can do what he wants to

My sweet hubby had his (drum roll please) 33rd birthday on Aug 20th. He is now an even older man, but still as sexy as ever.

I kept it super casual cause that is how he likes it. He worked during the day (not something I would like to do) then when he got home I made him dinner, he is so funny he would much prefer something homemade over going out. What is he crazy??? Then we had Lisa and Nate over to eat some yummy homemade cake and ice cream and open presents. One of his presents was a month of one on one boxing lessons from ironglove boxing in Tempe, I think he liked it.

We had decorated the whole living room with balloons so after cake and ice cream and presents the kids played balloon fights and had fun hitting each other with them while we almost went insane. No really we chatted a bit and enjoyed our neighbors company.

The day was fun and casual. Just the way Colby likes it. Happy Birthday Bower, we sure love the heck out of you.

the final count down

The day has come that one of my bestest friends, Amy, is leaving me, or should I say left me. She up and moved to Florida and I am so sad. I think the hardest things is not only were we such close friends, but her kids and my kids were so close. They played together everyday. What are we going to do without them?

Truthfully, I really haven’t had many of my bestest friends leave me. I have had a few move to other cities here in Arizona, but I still see them often, but Florida. When I heard she was leaving to Florida I cried. I really am a baby, but we do everything together. She was the type of friend I could call anytime of the day and she would drop anything and come hang with me. She’d meet me for lunch, she was my chick-fil-a friend, she watched my kids no matter what (and they loved her), we could talk about anything and everything, we’d play outside in the cul-de-sac when it was nice out. There is just so much that I am going to miss about Amy. She is really one of those friends that are hard to find. I’ll never forget her and her family and how special they were to our family.

We did get to go out for one last girls night out on Friday. It was a bittersweet thing. It was fun to go out with the girls and just hang and have fun, but I wanted to just break down and cry most of the time. We enjoyed a yummy dinner at Oregano’s where we just chatted and enjoyed memories. Then we went to a late night movie. I was so tired, but kind of didn’t want the night to end cause I knew that would be the last time I’d see my friend tell she comes back to visit good old Arizona or until we go to Florida, which I’d love to do next summer. So Amy you better save a room for us in Florida. We already miss you good friends.
