Christmas 2009
It’s the most wonderful time of the year… Christmas! What more can I say just the word brings excitement. I love Christmas, family, family and more family along with present, presents, and more present. This year has been so fun watching the kids get excited about the presents, seeing family, going to lights, but mainly just watching them learning more about the real meaning of Christmas- Christ.
Christmas day was so great, it seemed to be so stress free this year. Just kind of easy does it and laid back. We still did the whole- my family, Colby’s family thing, but it wasn’t too bad. We had Jason and Erin’s family and my mom over for brunch at my house, with eggs, bacon, burnt French toast (courtesy of Heather Bower), fruit and juice. Then it was time for opening presents, yeah, how exciting. Chase played Santa again this year and it was a crack up. We were all having so much fun just laughing at him as he passed out presents and yelled HO, HO, HO… After opening all the presents we just hung out a bit, ate a little more, and then played with the presents we got.
Next, it was time to head to the Bower’s Christmas. It was at Jami’s house, were she set it up all cute and had it all ready to go. When we walked it the tree was packed with presents. The kids couldn’t believe they got to open presents again. They are so lucky. We were lucky to have Colby’s parents here again this year with us, and Brielle and Cooper were just thrilled to hang with them. We let the kids play a bit and the adults chatted until we just couldn’t wait any longer and then we just had to rip into the presents. We let the kids do theirs first, I know nice of us adults, then it was our turn, so exciting. After presents we ate, ate, and ate some more. Oh my was it delicious. We had steaks, potatoes, jello, bread, and so much more. We ended up going home pretty late, but we all had a great time visiting.
Our Christmas was great and we were just so grateful for all the wonderful gifts that we received and all the wonderful family we have around us to share our special Christmas memories with.
