let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

I think we’ve come up with a new Bower Family Tradition, SNOW DAY!  This year we decided to head up to Flagstaff for a day in the snow.  The kids had a blast and I must admit so did the parents.  A friend of Colby told him about this great spot to go sledding called, oh wait if I told you I’d have to kill you… Just kidding, but seriously it was so great and we’ll be going there next year it was called, Wing Mountain sledding and snow play area.

We got our gear packed (thanks to our friend, Jackie, and Play it Again Sports we were set up for cheap on snow gear) and then headed out in the morning.  Once we got there the kids were so excited to actually see snow, they just couldn’t believe it.  They thought we were in a different state.  Cooper still thinks Flagstaff is it’s own state, not to mention that he thinks anywhere with snow is called Flagstaff.  It’s pretty cute.

Once we got there we got in our warm attire and get ready to sled and just play for a good couple of hours.  I wasn’t sure if the kids would get so stinkin’ cold that they would just want to leave, but they didn’t they had so much fun and they were so brave.  Brielle went down the biggest hill they had with all the pros, like she owned the place.  Colby and Cooper were adorable going down the hills, and I even took in a hill or two…  I know crazy talk!  We even got to do DEEP snow angels, snowball fights, and snow digging.  It really was a joy.  The snow is just so beautiful and calming.

On the way home we were meeting Erin and Jason’s family in Sedona at the Red Rock’s lights so we decided to take the scenic route to Sedona through Oak Creek Canyon.  That was the best thing we could have decided to do.  It was so amazing.  The view was awesome.  I was just sitting in the car in amazement at the beauty that surrounded us.  We even stopped for a photo opt cause it was just so cool.

When we got to Sedona we stopped at the Blue Moon Café for a quick bit to eat.  The food was good, Chase got this ginormic pancake it was out of control huge!!!!  You go Chase you can do!  Okay so he didn’t eat the whole thing, but he gave it a good try.

Then it was off to see the Christmas lights.  They were pretty cool.  It was a neat cause it was a whole bunch of little house type casitas that different people have decorated and you could vote on the best one.  So the kids had fun figuring out which one they liked best.  Towards the end my family was started to get pretty tired and grumpy we knew it was time to head home.

We definetly had a wonderful time in the snow and looking at the lights, but we were really glad to be home in our nice warm beds.  Tell next year.

Good times. I forgot how huge that pancake was. Thanks for joining us in Sedona.

Yeah, that is where we go sledding, too. It is funny to see how it has evolved over the years. This last time I couldn't believe they had signs that told you to sled and walk. It is way more organized now than it was 4 years ago when we started going. Cute pics, glad you had fun!
