scarrrrrrryyyyyyyy

Our Cooper is a chicken little.  He is so darn funny with what scares him all of a sudden.  The other day he came running into my room as fast as he could and jumped into my lap (I was working on the computer) and he practically crawled up my face yelling, “scarrrrryyyyy  leaves, scarrrryyyyyy leaves”  I was thinking what the heck is he talking about.  I know he is scared of leaves in the swimming pool, but we're inside so I tried to set him down and he was literally clinging to me with all his might.  So I asked him what was scaring him and he pointed to our fake plant that sits in our room and has been there since we moved into our house forever ago.  I couldn’t believe it, he is so silly.  So it took about 20 minutes for me to finally convince him that they were fake and that he could touch them and that they had been there since he was born.  He was finally okay, but he still kind of runs really fast past them as not to let them touch him at all.  (Colby and I joked that maybe we should put it in front of our door at night so he won’t come into our room in the middle of the night.)  The crazy thing is that since he has been scared of the leaves he hasn't come into our room at night.  Yeppie, thanks you leaves!

That is hilarious. What a great technique to keep kids out. Where can I find one of those deterrents? I have an 11 and 8 year old that still seem to wander their way in on mostnights. Many nights, it is 2 tired adults, 2 sneaky kids, 1very large and greedy dog, and 2 determined little cats- squeezed onto 1 bed and 2 pillows.
